These are my own steps that I used, any resemblance to any other tutorial is strictly coincidental. I am hoping that you already have some understanding of PSP.
You will need to download my Wheelbarrow Alpha Selections and save them to a folder of your choice. You can download the Wheelbarrow selections HERE
With Selections you would have multiple files, each containing a part of your object. With ALPHA Selections, all the selected sections are contained in ONE file. To me, this is easier as everything in contained in ONE file and not a lot of different files to be "lost" or accidentally deleted.
Locate the A-wheelbarrow-pjk.zip file where you stored it and UNzip it, then open the file in PSP. Click SHIFT-D to make a copy and close out your original. It now looks like you only have ONE blank layer, but all the selections are there, trust me.
Change your foreground to a color for your wheelbarrow, I am using RED #c00303 and background color to NULL. Remember to SAVE often!!
Step 1 Add a New Raster layer. Go to Selections/Load-Save Selections/Load Selections from Alpha Channel. No need to locate the folder as all the selections are with your image, easy huh? Load 1base. You will see the Marching Ants, now Flood Fill with your color.
Step 2 Effects/3 D/Inner Bevel and use the settings below. (From now on, I will refer to this step as just INNER BEVEL). Select NONE. SAVE
Step 3 Add a New Raster layer. Go to Selections/Load-Save Selections/Load Selections from Alpha Channel. Load 2rim. You will see the Marching Ants, now Flood Fill with a contrasting color (if you want your wheelbarrow all the same color, use your base color).
Step 4 Apply the Inner Bevel and use the SAME settings. Select NONE. SAVE
Step 5 Add a New Raster layer. Go to Selections/Load-Save Selections/Load Selections from Alpha Channel. Load 3handle. Flood Fill with a tan color, I am using #eb8e09.
Step 6 Apply the Inner Bevel and use these settings. Select NONE. SAVE
Step 7 Add a New Raster layer. Go to Selections/Load-Save Selections/Load Selections from Alpha Channel. Load 4wheel. Flood Fill with a tan color, I am using #eb8e09.
Step 8 Apply the Inner Bevel and use the Same settings as above. Select NONE. SAVE
Step 9 Add a New Raster layer. Go to Selections/Load-Save Selections/Load Selections from Alpha Channel. Load 5spokes. Flood Fill with a tan color.
Step 10 Apply the Inner Bevel and use the Same settings as above. Select NONE.
Step 11 Drag this layer BELOW the WHEEL layer. SAVE
NOTE: Nice looking wheelbarrow you have. You can stop here, Merge/Merge Visible and save as a tube -- File/Export/Picture Tube. I am going to continue and decorate my wheelbarrow to make it look more festive.
If you saved as a tube, you need to UNDO so that you have your layers again before you continue.
Step 12 Add a New Raster layer. Go to Selections/Load-Save Selections/Load Selections from Alpha Channel. Load 6top-trim. Flood Fill with a tan color.
Step 13 Drag this layer BELOW the RIM layer. SAVE
Step 14 Add a New Raster layer. Go to Selections/Load-Save Selections/Load Selections from Alpha Channel. Load 7dots. Flood Fill with a color of your choice, I am using a DARK GREEN. You might need to ZOOM in so that you can see the Marching Ants for the dotts better.SAVE
Step 15 Add a New Raster layer. Go to Selections/Load-Save Selections/Load Selections from Alpha Channel. Load 8trim. Flood Fill with a color of your choice, I am using WHITE. SAVE
Step 16 Now we will add some details to the HANDLE. Highlight your HANDLE layer. Add a New Raster layer. Go to Selections/Load-Save Selections/Load Selections from Alpha Channel. Load 11handle-trim. Flood Fill with a color of your choice, I am using RED. Select NONE. Go to Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur and use a Radius of 1. SAVE
Now you have a nice festive wheelbarrow that you can use in any garden image. Merge/Merge Visible and save as a tube -- File/Export/Picture Tube.
Now you can add flowers and garden equipment to make your wheelbarrow look useful.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. I had fun making it for you.
