School House

Here is a simple, easy School House. I am furnishing you with the pixel outline, all you need to do is right click on it and save to a folder of your choice.

I am working on other buildings so that once completed, they can be used together for a village scene. Keep checking back for other tutorials.

#1 -- Right click on the outline image below and "Save Picture As" it to a folder of your choice.

#2 -- In PSP, right click on the Background layer in the Layers Palette and Promote Background Layer. Click on your Magic Wand, Tolerance 95 and Contiguous CHECKED, now ZOOM in so that you can see all the white areas. Holding down the Shift Key, click ALL the white sections, then click Delete.
Do not forget the small board sections between the windows and door, nor the background section by the bell.

When you have removed all the white, even the outside background, click Selections/Select None.

#3 -- Again, using the Magic Wand, click INSIDE all the wall boards. Make a NEW Raster Layer. Since I am making a Lil Red School House, I will be using RED #c00303, but you can make your school house any color you like.

#4 -- Keeping the red still selected, go to Selections/Float. Then go to Effects/3D/Cutout. Using Vertical 0, Horizontal 1, Opacity 75, Blur 10 and Color Black, click OK. Then Select None.

#5 -- Again, using the Magic Wand, click on the OUTLINE layer then click INSIDE all the windows; three windows, four sections each. Make a NEW Raster Layer. Floor Fill the windows with WHITE #FFFFFF.

#6 -- Keeping the windows still selected, go to Selections/Float. Then go to Effects/3D/Cutout. Using Vertical 0, Horizontal 1, Opacity 75, Blur 5 and Color Black, click OK. Then Select None.

#7 -- Again, using the Magic Wand, click on the OUTLINE layer then click INSIDE the three DOOR boards. Make a NEW Raster Layer. Floor Fill with a color of your choice, I am using a dark gold #eb8e09.

#8 -- Keeping the door still selected, go to Selections/Float. Then go to Effects/3D/Cutout. Using Vertical 1, Horizontal 0, Opacity 75, Blur 10 and Color Black, click OK. Then Select None.

#9 -- Repeat Step 7 for the ROOF. I am using a brown #6A5F46.

#10 -- Repeat Step 8 changing the Vertical to 3 and the Blur to 0. Select None

#11 -- If you want your background to show through the bell tower, then you can leave it as is. If you do not, then you can a contrasting color so that your bell will still show. When you are satisfied with your School House, you can Merge/Merge Visible all the layers and save it as a tube (File/Export/Picture Tube). Then you will have it to tube on a background of your choice.
