Now that you are relaxed, we can continue. This is what you should have so far. doesn't look like much does it? Now we are going to add the turrets, battlements and flags, then it wil look much better.





Change your foreground to BLACK and background color a medium brown, I am using #964a20. Remember to SAVE often!! We will be working with a lot of layers for this tutorial.

Step 15      Add a New Raster layer. Go to Selections/Load-Save Selections/Load Selections from Disk. Locate the folder where you saved the Sand Castle selections and Load 6SC1-middle-pjk. You will see the Marching Ants, now Flood Fill with the BLACK. Go to Selections/Modify/Contract and set it to 1. Flood Fill with your color.

Step 16      Select FLOAT. Effects/3D/Cutout and use the settings below. Select None.







Step 17      Add a New Raster layer. Go to Selections/Load-Save Selections/Load Selections from Disk. Locate and load 7SC1-middle-pjk. Flood Fill with the BLACK. Go to Selections/Modify/Contract and set it to 1. Flood Fill with your color.

Step 18      Select FLOAT. Effects/3D/Cutout and use the SAME settings. Select None.





Step 19      Add a New Raster layer. Go to Selections/Load-Save Selections/Load Selections from Disk and Load 8SC1-Mid-trim-pjk.

Step 20      Flood Fill with the BLACK. Go to Selections/Modify/Contract and set it to 1. Flood Fill with your color.

Step 21      Select FLOAT. Effects/3D/Cutout and use the SAME settings. Select None.

Step 22      Drag this layer BELOW the R Turret layer.





Step 23      Click on the TOP layer to highlight it. Add a New Raster layer. Load 9SC1-roof-pjk.

Step 24      ZOOM in and Flood Fill INSIDE the Marching Ants with BLACK. Click the BLACK fill about 5-6 times to really fill in with color. Select NONE. SAVE





Step 25      With the Magic Wand click the INSIDE of the ROOF. Select/Modify/Expand by 1. Flood Fill with your Brown. LEAVE SELECTED. You will see some pixels that did not take the color, use your PaintBrush Tool set at size 1 and with the brown color, fill in the missing pixels. Select NONE.





Step 26      Arrange/Send to Bottom. Then move this layer just ABOVE the bottom "back" layer (see image below).SAVE

     



Step 27      Click on the TOP layer to highlight it. Add a New Raster layer. Load 10SC1-peaks-pjk.

Step 28      Repeat steps 20 & 21 above. Drag this layer down just BELOW your 6SC1-middle layer.SAVE





Step 29      Click on the TOP layer to highlight it. Add a New Raster layer. Load 11SC1-smwindows-pjk.

Step 30      Repeat steps 20 & 21 above, changing the CUTOUT to settings below. There are 17 windows, so be sure to get the two on the back turret.SAVE






Step 31      Add a New Raster layer. Load 12SC1-lgwindows-pjk.

Step 32      Repeat steps 20 & 21 above, use the CUTOUT settings above. There are 9 windows, so be sure to get the two on the side building.SAVE





Step 33      Add a New Raster layer. Load 13SC1-balls-pjk.

Step 34      Repeat steps 20 & 21 above, but use the CUTOUT settings above. There are 9 windows, so be sure to get the two on the side building.SAVE

Step 35      Add a New Raster layer. Load 14SC1-flags-pjk.

Step 36      Flood Fill with BLACK, Contract by 1, Flood Fill with WHITE. Float, use the CUTOUT settings above. SAVE

Step 37      Click on your PEN Tool, size 3, Point to Point, make your Flag Poles. Start at the top of your flag and make them slightly over the Balls. When you have all four done, DRAG this layer BELOW the Ball layer.SAVE





It is coming along just fine now. Only a couple more steps to completion. Relax for a bit before we continue.

Step 38      Click on the TOP layer to highlight it. Add a New Raster layer. Load 15SC1-water-pjk.

Step 39      Flood Fill with WHITE, Contract by 5, ADD a NEW Raster layer, Flood Fill with a blue, I am using #a0dffc. Adjust/Blur/Guassian Blur with a Radius of 15. Merge/Merge DOWN. Select NONE. Arrange/Send to Bottom. SAVE





Step 40      Click on the TOP layer to highlight it. Add a New Raster layer. Load 16SC1-sand-pjk.

Step 41      Flood Fill with BLACK, Contract by 1, Flood Fill with your brown that you used for the main color in Part 1, I am using #eb8e09. Float, CUTOUT using the settings below. Repeat changing the Vertical & Horizontal to (MINUS) -2. Select NONE. Arrange/Send to Bottom. SAVE





Step 42      Click on the TOP layer to highlight it. Add a New Raster layer. Load 17SC1-bridge-pjk.

Step 43      Flood Fill with BLACK, Contract by 1, Flood Fill with your brown that you used for the main color in Part 1, I am using #eb8e09. Float, CUTOUT using the SAME settings. SAVE

Step 44      Click on the TOP layer to highlight it. Add a New Raster layer. Load 18SC1-bridge2-pjk.

Step 45      Flood Fill with BLACK, Contract by 1, Flood Fill with your brown that you used for the main color in Part 1, I am using #eb8e09. Float, CUTOUT using the SAME settings. SAVE

Step 46      ADD A new Raster layer. Make your foreground color a darker brown than you have been using, I am using #824e0a. Click on your PEN Tool, size 3, Point to Point, make your Bridge Ropes. Start at the top corners of your Bridge 1 and then click on the coresponding top corner of the lower bridge (SEE diagram below). Gaussian Blur radius of 1. SAVE





If you are happy with your Sand Castle, Merge/Merge Visible. Resize if needed, then you can save as a tube to use at a later time.... File/Export/Picture Tube. You can also add a gradient or lovely beach scene for a background and make a lovely sig tag for yourself.
