Pixel Elephant



This is going to be an easy tutorial, as you are just going to be filling
in with color and making your Elephant come to life.



Right click on my Elephant image below, and save it to a folder of your choice..



#1 Make your background #766e6e and your foreground #a0a0a0.
Click on your Magic Wand and use the settings below.



#2 Locate where you saved the elephant image and open it.
Use Window/Duplicate. Close out the original. Use the copy.
Zoom in so that you can see the outlines, I zoomed to 300%.
Right click on the Background layer and Promote Background Layer.

#3 With your Magic Wand, using the settings above, HOLD DOWN the
Shift key and click all the white areas. Do not forget the eyes,
the toe nails or the space between the trunk and belly.Then click
the DELETE key. Select NONE. Name this layer OUTLINE.



#4 Now is a good time to SAVE AS a .pspimage. Remember to
SAVE often. This way, if your program freezes up, you can open
it at your last saved position.

#5 Using your Magic Wand, same settings....Click inside the
head area. Add a NEW Raster layer, name this HEAD, and then
Flood Fill with your foreground color. Go to Selections/Float.
Then Effects/3D/Cutout and use these setting.....



Select NONE.

#6 Click on the OUTLINE layer, With the Magic Wand, SAME settings,
click inside the body. Add a NEW Raster layer, naming it BODY,
Flood Fill this with your foregound color. Selections/Float. Then go
to Image/3D/CUTOUT apply using the SAME setting. Select NONE.

#7 Repeat step #6 for the other LEG.

#8 Repeat step #6 for the TOP LEFT EAR. This time changing the
Cutout BLUR to 10.This is what you should have so far....



#9 At this point you can Merge/Merge Visible.

#10 Change your foreground color to WHITE. With the Magic Wand
and holding down the SHIFT key, click INSIDE both EYE areas.
Flood Fill with WHITE. Select NONE.

#11 Change your foreground color to #eabbeb. With the Magic
Wand and holding down the SHIFT key, click INSIDE of the EARS.
Flood Fill with the PINK. Selections/Float. Use the CUTOUT
changing the Opacity 50, Blur 15 and change the
Shadow Color to #c000c0. Select NONE.



#12 Almost done, we just have the toes to complete.With the
Magic Wand and holding down the SHIFT key, click INSIDE each
of the TOES. Flood Fill with the WHITE. Selections/Float.
Use the CUTOUT changing the Opacity 100, Blur 3 and change the
Shadow Color to #404040. Select NONE.

#13 If you still have layers, Merge/Merge Visible and then go
to File/Export and save as a tube. you are now DONE!!!
