Funky Glasses

In the 60's crazy looking sunglasses were all the rage; crazy shapes, jewels and rhinestones, wild colors and multi-colored. Some had regular sunglass shaded lenses, others were tinted in different colors, even the infamous "Rose-colored glasses".

If you are like me, and some friends I know, who like to collect tubes for future use. Then you will like this tutorial. Do you have book tubes? Well, wouldn't it be nice to have a pair of glasses to go with your books in an image? If so, then this is the tutorial for you...LOL. Quick, simple, easy, and no special filters needed.

#1 -- Open a NEW image 200X100, transparent background.

#2 -- Click on the Preset Shapes tool and locate the HEART 1, this will be the solid, fuller heart. Make the line width 4.

#3 -- Choose a color for your glasses frame and make that your foreground color, I am using a blue, #0000ff. Make your background NULL.

#4 -- Make a nice plump heart in the lower center of your canvas. DUPLICATE. With the Mover Tool, position the HEARTS, lower center, with a gap between them (the gap will become the nose bridge).

#5 -- When you are happy with the "nose" spacing, Merge/Merge Visible.

#6 -- Add a NEW Raster layer. With the Paintbrush, size 2, make a small arch BETWEEN the hearts for the nose bridge.

#7 -- Add a NEW Raster layer. To the right of the right heart, draw the bow and ear piece.

#8 -- DUPLICATE. Image/Mirror. Adjust position if necessary. Merge/Merge Visible.

#9 -- Click on the Magic Wand, Tolerance 0 and Contiguous CHECKED. Hold down the CONTROL key and click INSIDE both hearts. Add a NEW Raster layer.

#10 -- Effects/3D/Cutout. Apply the settings below. Then Select NONE.

#11 -- ZOOM in to about 300%. Change the foreground to WHITE. Add a NEW Raster layer. With the Paintbrush, SAME settings, draw a curved line in the upper right corner of the RIGHT lens area.

#12 -- Adjust/Blur/Gaussian Blur and use the Radius of 1.50. DUPLICATE. Using the Mover Tool, move this layer to the LEFT and position on the left lens. Merge/Merge Visible.

#13 -- Now you can Export as a tube and save it for later use.
