Silver Bells

Silver bells, silver bells
It's Christmas time in the city
Ring-a-ling,
Hear them ring
Soon it will be Christmas day.

This is one of my very favorite Christmas songs. I have been humming this tune
all day today, and it gave me the idea of making this tutotial of Silver Bells.

#1 Open a new image 200X200 transparent. Name this SILVER BELL and save as a .pspimage.

#2 Choose a Silver Gradient, Linear, Angle 322 Repeats 0, and make this your foreground color,
background color NULL.. Remember to save often.

#3 Add a NEW raster layer. Using your Preset Shapes Tool, locate the rectangle,
Anti-alias CHECKED. Changing your foreground to NULL and your background color to
black, make a rectangle about 1/3 on the bottom and about 30 pixels wide.

#4 Using your Preset Shapes Tool, locate the Elipse and keep the same settings.
Add a NEW Raster layer and make a circle on top of the rectangle.
Making it slightly wider than the rectangle.
Merge/Merge Down. DUPLICATE. Image/Mirror. See Img 2 below.

#5 Merge/Merge Visible. Go to Effects/Geometric Effects and choose CIRCLE. It should be
set for Default Settings (the curved arrow at the top) and CHECK Transparent. Click Okay.

#6 Selections/Select all. Selections/Float. Selections/Defloat.
Selections/Modify set to 3. Selections/Invert then click you DELETE key.
Selcet NONE.

#7 Add a NEW Raster layer. Change your foreground to BLACK and your background to NULL.
With the Preset Shape Tool, still using Elipse, change the line width 3,other settings
stay the same as before. . Starting in the MIDDLE on the LEFT side, make an oval until
across the whole bell (see image 1 below) so that the bottom appears to make a ring around
the centre. Hover your Cursor over the EDGE of your image until you see the DOUBLE ARROWS,
then click and drag this so that your image will be wider. You will need to use the Deform tool to
stretch the oval and pull it down so that it appears to make a ring around the center of the bell.

#8 Click the arrow by your Magic Wand and change to the Selection Tool (the rectangle).
Make a rectangle around the part of the oval that makes the center of the bell.
Selections/Invert. Hit your DELETE key, Select NONE.

#9 ZOOM in as we will be erasing some of the pixel that extend past part of the bell.
BUT, we will be leaving a few pixels on the OUTSIDE so that it looks as though
the ring is going AROUND the bell. Remember to erase BOTH sides.

#10 Select All. Select/Float. Flood Fill with your Silver Gradient.
Go to Effect/3D/Inner Bevel and use these settings...

#11 Go to Effect/3D/Drop Shadow and use these settings...

Select NONE. Merge/Merge Visible.

#12 You can save the bell as is now and Export it as a tube. Or you can add a ring on top.
Image/Canvas Size. Change the Heigth to 300, Width to 200, and Placement Center Bottom.
Still using the Elipse shape, and you foreground still the silver gradient, keeping the
line width at 3, make a small circle at the top of the bell. Apply the same Inner Bevel
as above. And the same Drop Shadow as above. Use the Mover Tool to position it whare you
feel it looks centered. Crop.

#13 Merge/Merge Visible and then go to File/Export and save as a tube.
