1-2-3 EASY Sig Tag
I have been seeing a lot of Sig Tags, some are simple and some are fancy and extravigant. I am in the mood to make simple and easy tags for the beginner. And this will be the simplest tutorial one has ever seen, or done. TOO simple in fact. All one has to do is make the branch, and then add any tube desired. See, very simple. But, to make this even more challenging, I will be making it animated. You could say that you are getting two tuts in one. First, you will need to figure out what tube you want to use in your sig tag. #1 Open a new canvas 200X100. Set your background to a dark brown #895313 and your foreground to a lighter brown #bf7e31. Click on the Preset Shape Tool, locate the Rectangle, Create as Vector UNchecked and width set to 1. Draw a narrow rectangle across the lower part of your canvas. SAVE NOW as a .pspimage if you want to make it animated later.
#2 ZOOM in so you can see your work better. In your Tool Bar, locate your PUSH Tool. If you are using PSP9 it will be about the ninth tool down. Click on the little arrow for the Tool selections.
#3 With the PUSH Tool, push out some color making little branch stubs. These do not need to be perfectly straight.
#4 Add a NEW Raster layer. Now you can add your tube (make sure it is CR or that you made it yourself), resizing it to fit your branch. For this tutorial, I am using a parrot that I made.
#5 Shift D to make a copy. Using the copy, Merge/Merge Visible. Export as a tube, if you want it to use at a later time. #6 Now you can add your name and make this into a Sig Tag. I wanted mine to be small so that I could use it with my blinkies, so I resized mine to width of 100. Save this version as a .jpg Part 2 NOW, if you want to make this sig animated, let's continue. #8 Close out the copy, we will not be needing it anymore. Making sure your .pspimage is ACTIVE and the layers are still visible, we can proceed. #9 Click on the top layer, this should be your NAME. Duplicate your NAME layer. Selections/Select All. Selections/Float. Flood Fill using the light color, or a lighter version of the color you used for your name. Select None. HIDE this layer (RED X). #10 Go to Windows/Duplicate. DELETE the name copy layer, then Merge/Merge Visible. Save this as an Animation psp file (this will be located at the top of your image choice window). Name this IMAGE1
#11 Back to your original image, with the name copy layer still with the RED X, Merge/Merge Visible. Now you should have just two layers, the completed tag with your name and the copy with the lighter version of your name. UNhide the copy layer now, making sure it is highlighted. #12 With the ERASER Tool, size 20, erase all the letters EXCEPT for the first one.
#13 Go to Windows/Duplicate. Merge/Merge Visible. Save this as an Animation psp file. Name this IMAGE2 and close it out. #14 Back on the original image, click the UNDO button (this is the left-facing arrow in the top control bar. This will make your light letters visible again.
#15 With the ERASER Tool, same setting, erase all the letters EXCEPT for the second one. #16 Go to Windows/Duplicate. Merge/Merge Visible. Save this as an Animation psp file. Name this IMAGE3 and close it out. #17 Back on the original image, click the UNDO button to make your light letters visible again. #18 Repeat steps 15, 16 & 17, but remember to only leave the next letter in sequence. NOTE: How many .psp image you save will depend on how long your name is. I used EIGHT frames, six for the letters and two solid name frames (I put one dark name image at each end)
I am taking into concideration that you already know how to use the Animation Shop in PSP. But, just in case, you can click HERE to go to my Animation Shop tutorial. Back to TutorialsI hope you enjoyed this tutorial. 2006 All Rights Reserved PJ Keplinger |
