Vector Wagon
I remember getting a Radio Flyer red wagon for Christmas when I was young. When my kids were young, they had a small wooden wagon for their toys in the house. So thinking of this gave me the idea for this tutorial. #1 Open a NEW image 300X200. I will be making a brown wagon, if you want to use different colors use a light and a dark shade. Make your foreground color #7a5032 and your background color #a47a5a. #2 Click on your Preset Shapes Tool and locate the Rectangle shape. Create as vector CHECKED and line width 1. Make a narrow rectangle across the center of your canvas. #3 Right click on your Vector layer and Convert to Raster Layer, name this FRONT. Duplicate, move this layer up slightly. Name this copy BACK. Arrange/Send to Bottom.
#4 Again, using your Preset Shapes Rectangle, make a square to the right of the FRONT section. Holding down the SHIFT key, click on the right middle Node and move it up to angle the square shape. Then, releasing the shift key, click the same Node and move it to the left making the square thinner.
#5 Right click on your Vector layer and Convert to Raster Layer, name this RIGHT SIDE. Duplicate, move this layer to the left. Name this copy LEFT SIDE. Move this layer BELOW the FRONT layer.
#6 Again, using your Preset Shapes Rectangle, make a long, narrow rectangle to the RIGHT side section. Rotate the about 45 degrees and prop it in the top center of the LEFT SIDE, this will be the tongue. Right click on your Vector layer and Convert to Raster Layer. Use the Mover Tool to reposition if necessary. #7 , Click on your Preset Shapes Tool and locate the Elipse shape. Create as vector UNchecked and line width 1. Add a NEW Raster layer. Make a small oval at the base of the narrow rectangle you just made. Use the DEFORM Tool and position it to form the handle. Move this layer BELOW the tongue layer. Merge/Merge Visible
#8 Click on your Preset Shapes Tool and locate the Elipse shape. Create as vector UNchecked and line width 1. Add a NEW Raster layer. Holding down the SHIFT key, make a small circle for the wheel. #9 Selections/Select All. Selections/Float. Effects/3D/Cutout and use these setting.
Use a darker shade than you used for your foreground color. Repeat the CUTOUT changing the Vertical & Horizontal to -2 (MINUS 2). Select NONE. SAVE.
#10 ZOOM in to get a close-up of the wheel. Add a NEW Raster layer. Make a small circle in the center. Selections/Select All. Selections/Float. Add the CUTOUT using only the Vetical & Horizontal 2 setting. Select NONE. #11 Add a NEW Raster layer. Using the Rectangle Preset Shape again, make a small rectangle over the small circle. Use the DEFORM Tool to angle it slightly. Drag this layer below the small circle layer. Selections/Select All. Selections/Float. Add the CUTOUT changing the Blur to 5. Select NONE. SAVE.
#12 HIDE the merged layer, which is your wagon. You should just have the three layers for the wheel, click on one of these layers to highlight it. Merge/Merge Visible. UNHIDE your wagon layer. SAVE. #13 Your WHEEL layer should still be highlighted. Duplicate and move this whell to the left of your wagon. Merge/Merge Visible. SAVE.
#14 Now you can EXPORT and save as a tube. You can also fill it with toys, flowers, what ever you want.
