PIXEL PONY Part 2
You did such a wonderful job on part 1 of the Pixel Pony and I know that you are probably anxious to get it finished... :)
Now, in my playing with this tutorial, I found that there are two different ways to finish the mane and tail; 1) a very simple and easy way, and 2) a slightly longer way, but with neat effects.
I will be giving directions for both ways. You can do them both, or just the one you like best.
1) The very simple and easy way
#1 First, let's open your pony psp image. You should have TWO layers; BODY and OUTLINE.
Use Shift D to make a copy of your psp image and minimize it for later use.
This is what you should have......
#2 ZOOM in so that you can see the open spaces of the mane and tail.
#3 Click on the OUTLINE layer. Holding down the SHIFT key, click inside each open area
of the mane and tail. Open a NEW Raster layer and name it MANE, TAIL, or HAIR, whichever you prefer. Now change your foreground color to a corresponding color, I am using #fed03c . Flood fill all the areas with your color. Select None.
#4 I noticed that there are a few tiny pixels that were not colored in, so we will correct that now. You will need to ZOOM in so that you can see them (I zoomed in to 800%).
#5 With your Color Picker Tool , click on a color from the OUTLINE color. Then using your Paintbrush Tool, size 1, click on each pixel to add the color.
#6 Merge/Merge Visible. Crop if needed and export as a tube.
Here is what my pony looks like.
2) The slightly longer way, but with neat effects
NOTE:First, let me say that this part is easy as you will be doing the SAME steps
for each section. It is because of doing EACH section in the MANE and TAIL that gets time consuming. Once you do the first few steps of directions, you just repeat them until finished.
Maximize the copy you saved from earlier.
ZOOM in so that you can see the open spaces of the mane and tail.
#1 Click on the OUTLINE layer. With the Magic Wand, click in ONE section of the MANE. Open a NEW Raster layer and name it MANE. Now change your foreground color to a corresponding color, I am using #fed03c . Flood fill with your color.
#2 Go to Effects/3D/Inner Bevel and use the settings below.
#3 Selections/Float. Then go to Effects/3D/Cutout and use the settings below.
Select None.
#4 Click on the OUTLINE layer. With the Magic Wand, click in another section of the MANE. Click on the MANE layer. Flood fill with color. Add the BEVEL, Selections/Float and add the CUTOUT. Select None. This is where you are now......
#5 Repeat steps 1, 2, and 3 above for EACH section.
#6 Merge/Merge Visible. Crop if needed and export as a tube.
Here is what my pony, with the fancy mane and tail, looks like.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
