Vector Strawberry

The Strawberry will be yours to use as you wish for tubes, sigs or in other images as long as they are for non-prophet. If you want to use it for monetary gain, please contact me for permission.

Open a new image 300X300, transparent and add a NEW Raster layer, name the Background and Flood Fill with BLACK. This will make your image easier to see.

Preset Shapes Tool.. Ellipse... make a large circle

Foreground color NULL Background color a RED, I am using #C13D2F

Make a large circle

Use Pen Tool and add a few NODES. Add as many or as few as you like to get your strawberry shape. Remember, strawberries are not perfectly smooth.

Save as a pspimage. Since we are working with layers and Vectors remember to save often.

When you are satisfied, right click on the Vector layer and Convert to Raster Layer. Name this STRAWBERRY.

Strawberries have teeny tiny little seeds on the outside. Here I used the Ellipse again and made tiny marks all over part of the inside of the strawberry, I used a yellow #FED03C. Clicked on the Vector layer and Convert to Raster Layer. Name this SEEDS.

Use the Deform Tool to rotate the "seeds" to go the length of the strawberry.

Depending on how many seeds you made, you can now Duplicate this layer. I Duplicated mine 6 times. And arrange them to cover your strawberry. They do not need to be perfect as this is not a real strawberry.

Do not worry if some of the seeds are outside of the berry body, as we will remove them.

Make your Strawberry layer invisible by RED Xing the EYE. Click on one of the COPY layers and Merge/Merge Visible. Name this merged layer SEEDS.

Here is an EASY way to remove the unwanted SEEDS. Click on the STRAWBERRY layer. Then click on the Magic Wand and click the OUTSIDE area of the berry. Marching Ants will now be around the berry and the outside of the image.

Make sure you highlight the SEED layer and click the Delete key on your keyboard. All the unwanted seeds will now be gone. You can lower the Opacity to between 50 and 64 I lowered mine to 54.

Selections/Select None. SAVE

Now for the Leafy Cap:

Since I do not feel like making each leaf individually, I used the Ellipse and made an oval. Set your Foreground color to a Dark Green; I used #096109 and your Background color to a Medium Green, I used #0C7E0C. Then use the Deform Tool to rotate it and position it over the top area of the STRAWBERRY.

Click on the Pen Tool and add more NODE. You will need to Zoom your image so that you can work on the separate leaves. You can place the leaves however you like them. I used a BLACK background so that you could see the NODES better.

When you are happy with your leaves, clicked on the Vector layer and Convert to Raster Layer. Name this LEAVES.

With the LEAVES layer still highlighted, click on your Lighten/Darken Tool and add some shading to the leaves. Remembering that some ar the back leaves and will be darker.

If you want to add a small amount of dimension to your STRAWBERRY, highlight the STRAWBERRY layer and you can use Effects/3D/Inner Bevel and these settings.

Click on the Lighten/Darken Tool and lighten part of an area where the strawberry would be shiny.

If you are happy with your STRAWBERRY, DELETE the BLACK Background layer, you do not need it now. Resize to 200X200. Merge/Merge Visible and save as a TUBE.

I hope you enjoyed making this Strawberry as much as I did creating it.
