Vector Pear

Open a new image 300X300, transparent and add a NEW Raster layer, name the Background and Flood Fill with BLACK. This will make your image easier to see.

PEAR

Preset Shapes Tool.. Ellipse...Antialias and Create as Vector both CHECKED.

Foreground color NULL Background color a green, I am using #7BB55A. Make a large circle.

Use Pen Tool and add a few NODES. Add as many or as few as you like to get your pear shape. Remember, pears are not perfectly smooth and may be shades of green to shades of yellowish browns.

Save as a pspimage. Since we are working with layers and Vectors remember to save often.

When you are satisfied with your PEAR shape, right click on the Vector layer and Convert to Raster Layer. Name this PEAR.

SAVE

Click on the Magic Wand and click on the OUTSIDE of the PEAR. Selections/Invert.

Use the Air Brush Tool, size 30 Hardness 100, Step 25, Density 100, Opacity 100 and a light Green #C5DEB6. Add highlights where light might gleam off your PEAR. Use the Smudge Tool to blend the shading into your PEAR. Lower the Opacity of the Shading layer to 48. Merge/Merge Down. Selections/Select None.

To add some depth to the PEAR, I used Effects/3D/Inner Bevel with these settings.

STEM

Preset Shapes Tool.. Rectangle...Antialias and Create as Vector both CHECKED… width 3.

Foreground color a dark brown, I am using #6A5F46 and Background color a medium brown, I am using #B08D3A. Make a narrow rectangle

Use Pen Tool and add a few NODES. Add as many or as few as you like to get your STEM shape. Remember, STEMS are odd shaped and may you may use different shades of browns.

When you are satisfied with your STEM shape, right click on the Vector layer and Convert to Raster Layer. Name this STEM.

Click on the STEM layer and drag it below the PEAR layer.

To add some depth to the STEM, I used Effects/3D/Inner Bevel with these settings.

LEAF

Preset Shapes Tool.. Ellipse...Antialias and Create as Vector both CHECKED… width 3.

Foreground color a dark green, I am using #0C7E0C and Background color a medium green, I am using the same green I used for the PEAR #7BB55A. Make an oval.

Use Pen Tool and add a few NODES. Add as many or as few as you like to get your LEAF shape.

When you are satisfied with your LEAF shape, right click on the Vector layer and Convert to Raster Layer. Name this LEAF.

PEARS can have one, two, or more leaves, but I am only going to have one LEAF. If you want more, you can click on the LEAF layer and Duplicate. Then use the Deform Tool to rotate and position the extra LEAF.

Use the Paint Brush Tool, size 5, Hardness 100, Step 10, Density 100, Opacity 100 and the Dark Green #096109. Draw in the LEAF vein. Use the Lighten/Darken Tool to shade your LEAF. And use the Smudge Tool to smudge the vein into the LEAF.

SAVE

If you are happy with your PEAR, DELETE the BLACK Background layer, you do not need it now. Resize to 200X200. Merge/Merge Visible and save as a TUBE.
