Mosaic Frame

The Staff members at GraphiX wear some lovely Sig Tags.
I love seeing all of them as they have inspired me to write
my own tutorials. Here is an idea I got from seeing just
such a Sig Tag. This tutorial is from such inspirations.
You will be using the EFFECTS in PSP,
there will be no fancy plug-ins.

#1 Find an image you would like to use and open it in PSP.
(I found that an image between 250 and 500, on the longest
side, works best.) SHIFT D to make a copy and then close
out the original. This way, you do not make a mistake when
saving any changes and end up losing the original image. Click
on background layer and Convert o Raster. SHIFT D to make
another copy and minimize it as we will use it later.

#2 Go to Effects/Texture Effects/Glass Mosaic and use these setting.
You can play with the settings if you want. Save this as SAMPLE 1.
Minimize this image and maximize the other copy.

#4 With the copy, go to Effects/Geometric Effects/Circle
and use these settings. Choose a bright color that is
NOT in your image. I choose a pink.

#5 Using your Magic Wand, click the COLORED border.
Then hit your DELETE key. Select NONE.

#6 Add a NEW Raster layer, Arrange/Send to Bottom. Now you
notice the the TOP & BOTTOM of the circle are CLOSE to
the edge. Go to Image/Canvas size and change the HEIGHT
to 400, leaving the WIDTH at 500. Now we have some space to
work with. Flood Fill with a gold gradient. Click back onto
the TOP Raster layer (this will be he circle image).

#7 With the TOP layer still highlighted, Selections/Select ALL.
Selections/Float. Selections/Mofify/Expand by 5.
Selections/Invert. Highlight the BOTTOM layer and hit your
DELETE key. Select NONE.

#8 STILL on the bottom layer, Selections/Select ALL.
Selections/Float. Selections/Mofify/Contract by 5.
Hit your DELETE key. Select NONE.

#9 Selections/Select ALL. Selections/Float.
Effects/3D/Inner Bevel and use the settings below.
Select NONE.

#10 Add a NEW Raster layer, Arrange/Send to Bottom (or you
can just click on it and drag it to the bottom).
Selections/Select ALL. Activate your image that you
minimized earlier. Edit/Copy. Click on the circle image,
making sure that the BOTTOM layer is till highlighted,
Edit/Paste into Selection. Merge/Merge ALL.

#11 To make it more manageable, I resized my image; WIDTH 350
(the HEIGHT will adjust automatically). Adjust/Shapeness/Sharpen.

#12 Image/Add Border and using the size of 5 and a color
that is NOT in your image (I used BLACK), click okay.
With the Magic Wand, click the border, apply the Inner
Bevel, SAME as before. Select NONE.

#13 Add another BORDER size 15. Flood Fill with the
gold gradient. Apply the Inner Bevel using these
settings. KEEP selected.

#14 If you think your gold is a tad darker than you want,
go to Adjust/Brightness and Contrast/Brightness-Contrast
use these settings; Brightness 25 and Contrast 20. Select NONE.

#15Choose a color from your image
(this will vary image to image).Add another BORDER size 5
and change the COLOR to that from your image. With the
Magic Wand, select this new border. Selections/Float.
Effects/3D/Cutout and use the settings elow. Repeat the
Cutout changing the Vertical & Horizontal to -1 (MINUS 1).
Select NONE.

#16 Add another BORDER size 10. Select with the Magic Wand
and Flood Fill with the gold gradient. Apply the Inner
Bevel using these settings. Selecte NONE.

#17 Resize, I like to keep these types of Sig Tags around 300,
but you resize to what you are comfortable with. Add your
name, save as a .jpg and you are now DONE!!!
