Here is my third easy frame tutorial. You will just be using the effects that come with your PSP. No fancy plug-ins at all... *S* You can even use this with your favorite all-ready frames images, to make it look fancier.
You will be using your own image for this tutorial. Be sure that it is COPYRIGHT safe. If you use artwork from another Artist, be sure that you have the Artists permission and apply the URL link when required.
#1 -- Open your image in PSP. For this frame, I prefer to work with a squared image. I resize my image to 300X300.
#2 -- In your layer pallet, right click on the layer and Promote to Background Layer.
#3 -- Use the Dropper Tool
and pick a color from your image. Make this your foreground color.
#4 -- Image/Add Border. Make your size 5, symmetric CHECKED and change the color to any color that is NOT in your image. Click Okay.
#5 -- Use the Magic Wand and click INSIDE the border. Flood Fill with your foreground color. KEEP selected. Effects/3D/Inner Bevel and apply these settings below.
#6 -- KEEP selected. Effects/3D/Drop Shadow. Apply the settings below. REPEAT the Drop Shadow changing the Vertical & Horizontal to -2
(MINUS 2). Select NONE.
#7 -- Image/Add Border, size 35. With the Magic Wand, click inside the border. Go to Effects/Texture Effects/Sculpture and use the settings below. SEE NOTE BELOW. Select NONE.
NOTE: 1) You will need to change the COLOR to the color you are using for your Foreground color. 2) Since this effect is self beveled, you will not need an Inner Bevel. If you choose a different TEXTURE, then you can add an Inner Bevel of your choice.
#8 -- Click on your foreground color and then click on PATTERN. Locate your image in the Drop Down Box. Change Angle to 0 and Scale to 50.
#9 -- Add a NEW Raster layer. Flood Fill with your Pattern. You will now have FOUR images, see image below. Right click on the layer Arrange/Send to Bottom.
#10 -- Clcik on your Raster 1 layer; this will now be the TOP layer. Image/Resize and use 80% (80 percent), Bicubic, and UNcheck Resize all layers.
#11 -- Merge/Merge ALL.
#12 -- Image/Add Borders, size 5. Make sure the color is NOT in your image. Click Okay.
#13 -- Using the Magic Wand, click INSIDE the new border. Flood Fill with your foreground color. Apply the Inner Bevel using the SAME settings as above. Select NONE.
#14 -- Resize your image to 300. Add your name and SAVE. You are done!
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
