2009

I love to barter for things! I made a barter with Étaín ingen Chellaig for some trim. She wanted a haversack to carry her things in, only she wanted it by GWW (three weeks away). I informed her that I could complete the basic haversack but it would not be decorated until after her return from GWW; she agreed.

I used 100% wool for the material and 100% wool for the decorative stitching. The seams and lining were machine stitched (for extra stability). I did herring bone stitch over the seams and blanket stitch around the strap and flap.

I worked diligently on it and was able to (much to my chargrin) get all the seam treatments completed before giving it to her. When I gave it to her at Ducal, she was overly excited that I was able to get the decorative stitching completed (and did not inform her that I did so). I told her that I would finish adding her device charges after her return from GWW.

Completion update

I got E'tai'n's haversack returned to me in late October and was able to work on it inbetween my other projects. I finished embroidering her device on the flap and returned it to her mid November. I did the chain links and lion in chain and outline stitches. The details in the lion I did in back stitch.
