2009
When I took office as Cynagua Arts & Sciences Minister, I found out that some of the regalia
had been missing for a few years and no one had replaced the missing items. So this was a
project that I took to endeavor; to replace missing regalia items during my term in office.
1) The BALDRIC was easy to make. I embroidered a 3" roundel of
the Arts & Sciences badge and appliqued that to the yellow & white baldric.
2) The BANNER was easy to make, just time consuming. I wanted to make
somesthing that
1) would look good and 2) would last a long time. I decided to do the banner in needlepoint
using Paternayan wool yarn. I did the arch and candle in tent stitch and the background in a
basket stitch.
For the backing and tabs I used a navy blue wool material.
3) I made plenty of AWARD TOKENS; not only for current winners, but also for past winners who never
received an actual award. With the help of Mistress Diane de Winchester for donating the leather disks
and Mistress Danae FitzRoberts for helping to stamp all the awards, we now have enough to last a few more years.
4) I spent a weekend and cleaned the sun shade, as it had some mildew stains from getting wet
prior to my receiving it. and special thanks to Lord Sven Gotfriedson who took the sun shade
and had some minor cuts repaired. Now the sun shade is looking better and should last quite
a while. I even made a canvas bag to carry all the poles.
